-
How much does a photoshoot cost?Session fees start at £200 - This covers the cost of your consultation, photoshoot and viewing session. It includes the cost of my travel to most areas of the Midlands, but some areas and anything further afield will include a small add-on towards my mileage. As part of the session fee, you get £100 of credit towards any wall art that you purchase at your viewing session and you also receive a free 10x8 glass-mounted print (worth £42.95) which you receive at your viewing session. If you have more than one cat in your household, they can be added to the shoot for an additional £50 each.
-
How do I arrange a photoshoot?Simply get in touch with me and we'll organise a date for a consultation and a date for the photoshoot (usually about a week or so apart). Ideally, the consultation will take place in your home so I can meet your House Tiger and vice versa. Alternatively, the consultation can be held over Zoom or over the phone. You'll be required to pay your session fee upfront in order to secure your consultation and your photoshoot dates.
-
Do you photograph other animals?I love pets and animals of all shapes and sizes (apart from spiders) but at The House Tiger Project we specialise in cats only.
-
Can I just get the digital files? As my business model is built around creating bespoke wall art, I don't offer any "digital only" packages. However, I will give you a social media file for any images you purchase as wall art. You can also buy hi-res digital files for £125 each, but only if you are also buying wall art.
-
Do you offer payment plans?Session fees will need to be paid upfront in full when you book your consultation. For your wall art, you can use PayPal's Pay in 3 service for a maximum total spend of £2,000. Your total is split into 3 equal monthly payments, with the first payment being taken straight away at the checkout. The next 2 payments will be taken on the same date over the next 2 months. Click below to take a look at PayPal's website for more details such as eligibility criteria, etc.

My cat is black/has very dark fur, can you still photograph them?Yes, absolutely! I've worked with a few black cats, some long-haired and some short-haired, and the results are stunning. This one here is Nelly (who was also very timid and camera shy) but her photos turned out beautifully.

My cat is incredibly timid, I don't think they'll want to be photographed. This is one of the reasons why I try to have an in-person consultation prior to the shoot. I can bring along some of my props and cat toys for them to investigate. It's a chance for me to build some trust with them so that they feel more confident when I come back for the shoot. At the consultation, you can tell me more about your cat's likes and dislikes so that I can make sure they have the best time possible during the shoot. The key is to make sure they feel happy and enjoy their shoot. The last thing I want is for them to feel any distress. It also ensures I get the best possible results for you too.
-
My cats don't get on with each other, can you get a photo of them together?Yes! I photograph your cats individually then use some Photoshop magic to put them together afterwards. These two boys below were happy to be in the same room together but they didn't want to share the limelight (one of them was quite possessive of the posing stool!). They were photographed separately then carefully stitched together during the post-production process.
-
What if my cat won't sit still for the photoshoot?I don't expect them to sit like a statue and I wouldn't want them to either, this would result in some very expressionless and boring photos! I use a posing stool positioned perfectly with the lights and the backdrop. I then use a combination of toys, treats and catnip to encourage them to jump onto the stool by themselves. I keep them engaged and entertained while I start snapping. A high shutter speed and a subtle flash ensures the images are pin sharp and perfect.

What happens if you can't get any photos of my cat at all?To date, I've had a 100% success rate, so (touch wood) it won't ever be a problem. But I do have a procedure just in case it ever happens; Firstly, it's important to assess why your cat didn't want to take part. I'll brainstorm this with you to work out what might have worked better. We can then reschedule at no extra cost to try again on another day. If we still have absolutely no luck whatsoever and we can't even get one useable photo, then you'll receive a full refund for the shoot. I always advise having an in-person consultation in your home before the shoot where possible, with you and your feline companions. I bring a few of my props and toys and it gives them a chance to build some trust and familiarity with me.
-
What areas do you cover?I cover most of the Midlands. But there's a chance I might be able to travel further but I would need to add a small fee to cover some of my mileage costs. If you get in touch with me, I can let you know if I can get to you and how much this would cost. You can click here to use my contact form or you can email me on meow@thehousetigerproject.co.uk

Do you have a studio? No, I have a mobile studio and I carry out the shoot in your own home. This is where your cat is happiest, eliminating the possibility of causing them any distress, creating the best possible experience for you and your cat which in turn will produce the best results. My mobile studio is very compact and can be set up in the smallest of spaces, meaning we can pick your cat's favourite room for them to model in regardless of how cosy it is!
